Badminton

Badminton is known to be the fastest racket sport. Its very popular in Europe and Asia. Specially countries like China, Malaysia and Indonesia are known to excel in this sport. It is not clear to me how and where badminton originated, there are references of it having originated in China, India, Greece .... but at the end of the day it does not matter, as long as you are able to play it ;-) I used to play badminton for my high school back in India. However, once I moved here to the USA I realized that not everyone has even heard of badminton. Those who knew about badminton were generally under the impression that its a relaxing game that is played in the backyard along with BBQ picnic. Consequently it was very difficult to find a place to play and buy the right equipment. All this started changing a couple of years ago (at least to my knowledge). Maybe it is a result of increasing presence of Asians in the Bay area; nonetheless, now there are several places to play badminton or buy quality equipment for the same. Some time ago I searched the internet and was pleasantly surprised to find that there are now multiple places to play badminton within the bay area. So I bought a couple of Yonnex rackets, birds and started playing again. Following is a list of some places to play badminton near here. This is not a complete list, and I have not even been to some of the places, so the information may not be 100% accurate : -
